Welcome to Sako (collectively referred to in this policy as "we," "us," or "our"). We operate the Sako mobile application (the "App"), and various services including stablecoin wallet services, remittances to Africa, airtime purchases, and peer-to-peer payments (the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose your personal data when you use our App and Services.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we may have inadvertently collected personal data about a minor, please contact us at support@sako.money so we can delete it.

  • Third parties: We may receive personal data about you from third parties such as Bridge (our stablecoin infrastructure provider), analytics providers, and payment services.

  1. Providing and managing the App and Services: To create and manage your stablecoin wallet, process transactions, facilitate remittances, and provide other financial services.
  2. Communicating with you: To respond to your inquiries, provide customer support, send administrative messages, or notify you of changes to our Terms and Conditions.
  3. Improving our App and Services: To analyze how users interact with our App and Services, and to develop new features or enhance existing ones.
  4. Compliance and legal purposes: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes, including KYC and AML requirements.
  5. Security and fraud prevention: To protect our users and prevent fraudulent activities, money laundering, and other illegal activities.

Data Sharing and Protection

  • Within our corporate group: Sauki Inc (US), Sauki SAS (France), and Sauki SAS (Niger) share data where necessary to provide and improve our Services.
  • Service providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate our App and Services (e.g., Bridge for stablecoin infrastructure, cloud hosting, analytics). We ensure these providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data.
  • Legal or regulatory authorities: Where we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation or request.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Given that we operate globally through our entities in the US, France, and Niger, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions other than your own. As a financial services provider, we may be required to retain certain data for up to 7 years or longer as required by law.
